About Expansion Group
Traditional Architects are becoming more and more out of touch with modern methods of construction. In addition to this their level of focus in the project seems to be predominantly around the planning stages. The technical design and the construction of a project are often overlooked during the early design stages. This can lead to significant complications and cost implications later in the project. At Expansion Group our designers are experienced in both planning and technical design. This means that buildability, time & cost are factored into each step of your project ensuring a smooth run to completion.

The Process

4. Architectural design
The design process is usually the most exciting part for both client and our design team as this is where the ideas start to take form. Often the design process starts with a number of drafts based around the initial ideas set out by the client. Each of the drafts are reviewed and tweaked until a finalised design has been created to client satisfaction.
2. Instruction to proceed
Once you have reviewed our quotation and give us the give us to instruction to proceed, we will assign a project leader to take over your project. This will be your point of contact throughout the whole project.
5. Planning
Once a finalised design has been agreed the next stage is to obtain the necessary planning consents. Our consultants have extensive experience working with planning policies and will use this to their upmost advantage when handling planning applications. This experience and willingness to communicate with the council has favoured a high success rate of planning applications.
3. Survey
A detailed and accurate set of drawings to pick up the site in its context is an essential part to the design process. A measured survey would be carried out by us or by a specialist surveyor when appropriate.

We offer extensive services at this stage which are tailored to suit each client. We can assist with the tendering process, hold meetings with building contractors on your behalf & we can even carry out site visits to ensure work is being carried out to the best quality and in line with the project programme.
